The looping waterslide at Action Park. Action Park was nicknamed “Traction Park”, “Accident Park”, “Class Action Park”, “Danger Park” and “Death Park” by doctors at nearby hospitals due to the number of severely injured parkgoers they treated. Ride designers may have had insufficient training in physics or engineering. “They seemed to build rides,” one attendee recalls, “not knowing how they would work, and [then let] people on them.” (via: wikipedia)I fondly remember attending Warped Tour here back in ‘96 and almost drowning after getting shot out of a high speed water-slide that ended with a 15 foot drop into a pool. The park closed down for good at the end of that season.

I rode the bungee + gyroscope hybrid they had. This consisted of two bungee cords attached to a gyroscope you are strapped into that was clipped to the ground and then released, sending you 4 stories high into the air all while spinning.
However, you were much more likely to injure yourself on the sleds they had on concrete tracks. I refused to ride them seeing countless people come off with road rash on their arms and legs.
The thrill of Action Park as opposed to other theme parks was that there was a real possibility you might be killed on any one of their rides.
